eSIM provider Popcorn Mobile has announced that it’s calling it quits: on November 1, 2025, the company will shut down operations and hand over its subscribers to Estonian operator TravelSim (Top Connect OÜ).
What’s going to happen
During the night of October 31 to November 1, all active numbers will be transferred to TravelSim. Balances will be preserved as of midnight Tallinn time, though users may experience up to an hour of service disruption during the switch. Active data bundles will survive the migration and remain valid until their traffic or expiry dates run out.
To keep managing their numbers, customers will need to create a TravelSim account and link their number between November 1, 2025 and January 31, 2026. Detailed instructions will follow.
Who gets a ticket, who doesn’t
Not everyone is invited to the party: blocked numbers and those with negative balances will not make the jump. Instead, they’ll be handed over to regulators for recycling. Buying new numbers is already off the table, and topping up existing balances will be disabled starting October 20. Popcorn Mobile’s customer portal will remain accessible only until November 30.
About the money
Customers who want their money back must file a request by October 27. After the migration, refunds won’t be possible—everything will have been passed on to TravelSim. And even before that, there are caveats: no refunds for balances under €5, blocked numbers, promotional bonuses, or funds loaded via Russian bank cards or the Faster Payments System. Refunds, where applicable, will also be subject to a handling fee.
From November 1, subscribers will be served under TravelSim’s rates and rules. Popcorn Mobile, it seems, has decided that the curtain should fall with no encore.
