Starting August 9, the virtual number provider SMSBOWER will switch its billing currency from Russian rubles to U.S. dollars. The company says the change will make the service more transparent and easier to use.
From Rubles to Dollars — A Matter of Stability
At 5:00 PM Moscow time (UTC+3) on Saturday, August 9, all user balances will be automatically converted into U.S. dollars. Developers working with the API should also take note: the maxPrice parameter must now be passed in dollars, and the GET_PRICE request will return values in USD only. Ruble-based values are no longer accepted — the “wooden” has officially retired.
For those who still prefer topping up in rubles, there’s no reason to worry: existing ruble payment methods will remain available. However, all deposits will be converted into dollars automatically.
Temporary Downtime for Currency Order
During the switchover, brief technical maintenance may affect service availability. SMSBOWER promised to notify users once the platform is fully restored.
It seems SMSBOWER has decided it’s easier to shake hands with the dollar than to guess the ruble’s next move.
