Starting September 1, a new regulation in Russia will prohibit transferring phone numbers to third parties. For virtual number provider 5SIM, this means reshaping its operations. The company notes that it closely follows local laws and prioritizes user safety.
As a result, on August 8 the platform will disconnect Russian operators and services. From that date, receiving SMS on Russian numbers will no longer be possible.
A new address to log in
Access to 5SIM from Russian IPs has already been restricted. Within the next two weeks, the domain 5sim.biz will also shut down. Users can log in via 5sim.net, which will continue offering numbers from countries where virtual number usage remains legal.
The company thanked its customers for their understanding, adding that change isn’t always the end — sometimes it’s just swapping a SIM card for a newer one.
